In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “the science of life”.
This holistic approach to healing focusses on three main aspects: human body, mind and soul in order to prevent illness, treat it and help maintain optimal physical and mental health and also wellbeing.
It is an art of living in harmony with the laws of nature.
Ayurvedic consultation
Based on one’s pulse, an ayurvedic doctor can detect the first symptoms of a disorder even before it demonstrates itself as illness. This allows for an early and adequate intervention.

The Panchakarma Programme
Ayurveda states that the universe is built of five basic elements – space, air, water, fire, and earth. Since the human being is a considered a microcosm of the entire universe, all five of these elements can be found within each of us.
These five elements combine in different ways give origin to the three doshas. The Doshas are the primary energies of nature, known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. We are born into this world with a unique combination of this three Doshas. We call this combination ‘prakriti’.
An unhealthy diet, lifestyle, difficult experiences, and other factors put our doshas out of balance effecting our Agni (metabolic fire). A weak or unbalanced Agni then causes poor digestion. As a consequence, this further leads to the formation of Ama (toxic metabolic waste). When Ama is absorbed by the organism, it circulates through the cardiovascular system, resulting in congestion of the Srotas (channels) and Dhatu (tissue). Therefore, by undergoing a panchakarma programme these channels can be cleansed in order to help the body perform its natural, biological functions. In addition to this panchakarma is an overall exceptional; healing, prevention and rejuvenating procedure for the promoting and maintaining optimal health.
